Liyue Yin earned a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Kent State University under Dr. Jerry Wong. She received her master’s degree in piano performance with Dr. Peter Miyamoto at the University of Missouri where she regularly gave both solo and chamber recitals in various venues. Currently under the direction of professor Sean Chen, she is pursuing a DMA program at the University of Missouri – Kansas City. She has also worked with Richard Goode, Alan Chow, Alessio Bax, Gerardo Teissonnière, and Julio Elizalde.
Ms. Yin is an active performer as a soloist and a chamber musician. She has performed in China and the United States. She frequently appears as a soloist and a chamber musician for the classical repertories. As an experimentalist for contemporary music, she explores minimalist music, performing concerts as part of a piano duo. She also performs solo concerts showcasing premier piano works by numerous composers, and has worked as a collaborative pianist in opera productions, choirs, and orchestras.
As a concerto competition winner, Ms. Yin performed with KSU Orchestra. She was the winner of the piano competition and the chamber music competition hosted by the University of Missouri.
