Nicholas Gragg is a trombone teacher at the Kansas City School of Music. He is also a second-year graduate student at the University of Missouri Kansas City. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Bass Trombone Music Performance from Truman State University, and he is currently completing a Masters in Bass Trombone Performance from UMKC.
His performing experience includes performing with the Quincy Symphony Orchestra, National Music Festival Orchestra, Southeast Iowa Symphony, Brookside Brass, and appearing as a guest soloist with the Truman Brass Ensemble. He also works as a freelance musician, who performs with the North Star Brass Quintet.
Nicholas also has a passion for music education. He has given masterclasses at schools throughout the midwest and has several years of experience teaching private brass lessons. Nicholas began teaching music and extracurricular academics in 2013 and giving private lessons in 2016. His teaching philosophy emphasizes the student’s goals and fosters their love for music.
